Workflow for Processing Claims, Billing Patients, and Taking Payments

Appointment Check-in or Add Charges:

Once an appointment is checked in or after saving Add Charges, an encounter is automatically opened.

Accessing the Encounter and Superbills:

Click on the appointment to select the superbill from the pop-up menu, or:

Navigate to Appointments > Patient Encounters Screen, or

Use Search to find and open the encounter, then select the superbill.

Adding Diagnosis and Billing Codes:

All diagnosis and billing codes are entered on the superbill.

Finalizing Superbills:

Once all superbills are finalized, proceed to create claims.

Creating Claims:

To create claims:

Navigate to Batch Management under Billing and select "Create From Final" or

On the superbill, click "Open Claim."

Sending Claims Electronically:

In Batch Management, click "Send" to transmit the claims electronically.

Viewing Patient Balances:
-
All self-pay claims or billing codes will display the patient balance on the AR Summary Screen or Accounts Receivable Screen.

Processing Payer Payments:
-
All payer payments are recorded on the New ERA Management Screen.
