Link Service to Collection Sample and Tests ed-10155

Multiple laboratory tests can be associated with the same Billing Service Code. Click Service Linking to map and configure the in-house laboratory test with the appropriate billing service.

  1. Search the Service by CPT code.
  2. Then click on Link Service Link at the right of the CPT Code. A dialog will open up.
  3. Now select the External Center like Lab, LabCorp, Inhouse Lab.
  4. Enter a Name in Custom Name filed
  5. Enter a code for internal use.
  6. Add a description in Description filed
  7. Click Save
  8. Now the service is linked. You can see that now it will show a Test name, Description and CenterName for it.

Click the Sample tab to configure the sample collection details for the selected service. Select the applicable test days by checking the required weekdays or use Select/Deselect to mark all days at once. If sample collection is required, check Sample Required, then select the appropriate sample type from the drop-down list. If the required sample type is not available, click the + icon next to the Sample field to add a new sample type Additional options such as Profile, Multiple Result Printing, Multiple Result Entry, and Provisional Printing Allow can also be enabled as needed. Enter any required handling details in the Processing Instructions field and add proper preservation or temperature requirements in the Storage Instructions field. Once all details are entered, click Save to apply the changes.

To add a new Sample type: Select the Sample Name, select the Unit Name, enter the quantity, enter the minimum volume, instructions, select the Specimen Container and the set the status to Active.

Assign Test is used to map or assign result fields and investigations to a lab service or test. It helps define which fields will appear during result entry and reporting for the selected lab test.

In the Field(s) tab, available fields are displayed on the left side. Use the search box to quickly find a field, then click Add to List to assign it to the selected service. The assigned fields appear on the right panel under Field Name. To remove a field, click the X icon next to it.

When placing an order, the provider selects the appropriate in-house lab or labs where the ordered tests will be performed.
