Top Menu Features and Options  

Messages can be sent, replied, and forwarded to staff and patients. The patients send messages from the EMHA Health mobile app or from the patient portal called Enablemythealth Not sure if it exists and is functional. Groups can also set up groups on the patient portal to allow patients to send messages to specific staff as a group, such as front desk, or can send to individual providers.

There are few options available when clicked on Messages:

  • Go To Messaging: This allows to compose, review and set status for messages. The steps below demonstrate how to execute these actions.
  • Refill: Upon clicking this open Refill management screen.
  • CDA Messages: This allows the provider to send and review CDA messages
  • Invite Patient: This allows to invite the patient through SMS or Email.

 

Create Messages

Creating a message allows messages to be sent to any staff in your group, patients, and other staff in other medical organizations enrolled on Enablemyhealth. Type a subject and then type a message. Files can be attached with messages. A message status can be set. Selecting a patient allows templates and macros to be used to add patient information into the note or other standard templates. Messages can be saved to the patient chart for documentation.

Review Message

When a new message is received, an email notification can be sent to the provider by adding their email address under Employee Settings. Click on a message to review it. To reply or forward the message, click those buttons.

Away Message

If you are going to not accept messages for any period of time, an away message can be set with the date range under Away Status.

Messaging Settings

The user can easily create a group of the employees for messaging. This group name will appear on the Central Messaging link. Users can also edit the employees of this group name. 

SMTP Settings: Provider can set his own SMTP Server, or the user can use default SMTP Settings just by clicking on the check box “Use Default SMTP Settings”. So the emails will be sent to the patients after this setting. SSL and Do Not Reply can also be enabled.

SMS Settings:  The user saves the mobile number here for sending SMS Notification on the patients mobile. So, this number is from the sender end. 

Email Notification

 Here users can set the contents of the Email and these emails are sent to the patients from the provider.     

CDA Messages or Emails (Direct Messaging)

CDA messages allows sending and receiving clinical data using CDAs and other files with any provider that has a direct message address. This works like email, but it is secure and designed for sharing clinical data. You must sign up for a direct messaging account and add Contacts with direct messaging accounts to send messages (See under Administration).

Click Messages then select CDA Messages from the drop-down menu or on Appointments, click Referrals to see this screen:

Review and Import CDA or other Files

You can review and import the CDA messages and other files.

Send CDA and other Files

CDA files and other files can be sent using direct messaging from this screen. The Send CDA is also under Send options from Patient Center, Notes, and Order/Referrals Screen. The fields must be selected to send a CDA or file attachment.

To send perform these steps:

  1. Under Send From, select the sender account from the dropdown.
  2. Under Type Of Document, choose the document type.
  3. Select the patient by entering the patient last name or patient ID.
  4. Choose the Data Enterer from the dropdown list.
  5. Select the related Encounter.
  6. Select the required Encounter Note if you want to.
  7. Under Send To, select the receiving provider or dentist.
  8. Use Search NPI Registry if the provider needs to be searched through the NPI database.
  9. Enter the Organization information if required.
  10. Under Care Team, select a care team member either from:
  • Select Care Team Member From Portal
  • Select Care Team Member From Contacts
  1. In the Message Body section, type the message details.
  2. If additional documents are needed, upload them under Other Attachments or drag and drop files into the upload area.
  3. Enter the Reason.
  4. Under CDA Sections, select the sections that should be included in the CDA message.
  5. After completing all required fields and selecting the appropriate CDA sections, the following options are available to proceed with the CDA message:
  • View CDA to preview the CDA document before sending.
  • Send CDA to directly send the CDA message to the selected provider or organization.
  • Download CDA to download a copy of the CDA document.
  • Alert to send an alert notification related to the CDA message.
  • Send To All Care Team Members to send the CDA message to all selected care team members at once.
  • Send CDA In Mail to send the CDA document through email.

 

Search Directory

To find direct messaging addresses, the Search tab displays Providers and Organizations. We recommend searching by City to find the best results. Next and Previous buttons display more results. Once you find the one you want, click Add to Contacts.
